A wolf like creature with the upper half of his face covered in a bone like mask and four eyes. Veekandir is the harvester of war; he stalks the surroundings of battlefields and waits. In moments of courage and valor, his eyes will flash at the moment of a brave warrior’s death and their soul will leave their body in a brilliant flash as they fall. Many have claimed to see the flash of their fellow soldiers, or enemies; some few soldiers who survive battles even claim to have seen the flash of Veekandir’s eyes from tree lines or rock clusters. As the battles come to their end and the fields lay barren of life. It is said Veekandir will walk the fields and find any who still cling to their life at the end. If he can still sense courage in their hearts, he will lift them to his back and carry them to his realm where they will serve as warriors in the eternal war against the darkness of the void. Should anyone fall with courage in their hearts while battling in his realm, he will then ascend them to a realm of one of the other demigods of their choice where they may rest and exist in peace, or bring them back if they so choose to continue to defend our realm from the shadow of the void.
Veekandir’s realm is a great hall with many of the past kings and lords working to command and strategize the fields in front of the keep. At the edge of the grand warplanes there is a wall where in a series of rifts from the void continuously attempt to open and let the forces of the void in. While there are many long periods of peace and calm between attacks, the battles are indescribably horrific.
Those who pray to Veekandir and wear his totem will, in times of need and if courage fills their hearts, have a chance to find their eyes glowing with his power. One who fights with this blessing of war will find themselves stronger and faster than they have ever felt before. Some of the most dedicated followers will wear tufts of fur believed to be his fur shed as he searches the battlefields as a totem and testament to their courage. However, anyone who wears a totem that is truly of his fur yet does not muster courage in times of battle will be willed with cowardice and their totem will burn itself away, leaving a scar in their skin. Whenever someone with the mark of a coward feels fear at any point after this, the scar will burn and glow.
"War is not simply battle. Any number of people can fight one another. The reason and heart behind a warrior's actions is what can often define and tip the result from one victory to another. This is true war." -Veekandir
Among the most rare of monk kind, the Acolytes of Veekandir are akin to a warrior priest. Since Veekandir does not often deal in the affairs of mortals if at all, he needs very few to take on the blessings of his power and wisdom. When he does, it is in times where the balance of life and death is imbalanced. His particular disdain comes to reveal itself against necromancers. While he cannot directly come for them, his acolytes are the vessels through which his hatred would be seen for such as necromancers. These monks live a life of full dedication. Upon taking on the oath, their soul is transformed forever. Their minds will be imbued with the desire and wisdom to balance war within Wyl and share wisdom in honor and the integrity of a noble warrior.
Passive abilities granted to the acolytes of Veekandir are of vision, tactic, and war wisdom. Vision allows them to identify the difference between true hearted and noble warriors, as well as have a strong intuition for those who cling to power which corrupts life. Tactic allows them to have a war general's worth of insight in how to properly conquer a battlefield, while it is not perfect and does not make them unstoppable in battles, it does give them a lot of opportunities most would not notice. Wisdom allows them to help spread the ideals of a warrior's heart, guiding anyone who would wield a blade in their endeavor to find the most honorable outcome, heightening their chances of receiving a green death.
